Daniel is out of surgery now. The surgery went well. The abscess was in the dying part of Daniel's liver. The surgeon went through Daniel's rib cage and inserted a different type of tube into his liver than they have used in the past. The poisonous fluid is now draining out the tube.
Daniel is very fortunate that one of the doctors just happened to think of doing a CT scan yesterday (which is how they found the liver abscess). If the abscess had burst and flooded toxic fluid into Daniel's body, he would be back in the ICU right now.
Daniel will remain in the hospital today and we do not yet know whether he will stay in the hospital overnight or when he will be released. But as usual, we will update his condition and release information on the blog as soon as Aubrey and Mendy know.

Daniel...Aubrey...and Mendy...Wow!!! Now I know why I felt so anxious and desperate yesterday for Daniel...I am so glad they found the abcesses...I could see Daniel wasn't thriving and was worried...I hope they will keep him a little while until he gains some strength back...I'm glad Grandma Nan is there. That will be a comfort to Mendy and Daniel...I'm back in my little nest and busily engaged at the temple and the MTC...The MTC is a new and enjoyable experience role playing as an investigator for the missionaries preparing to leave on their missions...Loved it!!! My prayers are ever with you!!! Daniel...Don't forget to have the family get you buffalo meat as the therapist suggested to help raise ypour hemacrit...It will be easier to digest. It's lower in fat...Hope you get the vitamin B shots suggested by a friend who had a trauma... those really helped her and her appetite increased. Love to all...Grandma Wadsworth.
