Day 6: Afternoon Update

Sunday 5 April, 1:45 pm MST

Mendy says Daniel is feeling much better today, now that the pressure from the fluid build-up has been reduced. When she walked into his hospital room this morning, Daniel said, "Hi Mom" and sounded like his pre-accident self.

  6. Hey there, I am so glad Daniel is feeling better. My family and I have been including him in our prayers. Dan probably hasn't given it much thought but I still have his mountain bike, and I am willing to store it until we ride next too, and I just know Dan is gonna be calling to do that before too long, after all he is the toughest guy I know. Love you man.

  7. Hi all of you. I keep wanting to call Mendy every five minutes, but then I remember I can get an update from the blog. This blog is a great idea. I have to tell you all something really silly and how I think of Daniel a lot. I have had this stupid, obnoxious plantar wart, on the bottom left heal, for a couple of years now. I have not done anything about it because I love to be active working out, golfing skiing, etc., so I just have left it. It hasn't ever really been painful. I finally decided to do something about it and have been working on it for a couple of weeks now. All of a sudden, since Friday night, my foot has had shooting pain, like it's been blown up with a rifle. From what I have read, it seems like good news, because it means it's suffocating. I have had to tip toe around the house at night because I don't want to wake my poor husband up with my breathing exercises to relieve the pain. So basically I have been using Daniel as my comfort. Every time I think I can't bare the pain, I think of Daniel and it gives me so much strength and then it reminds me to pray for all of us organs, tendons, muscles, bones, etc. to heal. Then I think of the pain of family and friends that I am sure are wanting to help, but can't really do anything, but be patient and trusting. I know my simple little injury is a .000000000000000001 of what Daniel is feeling, but he's in my constant prayers. I look forward to hearing about more of his recoveries. Love you guys.

  9. Hi Conners, B.J. just let me know about the accident. I am SO sorry this has happened to Daniel. It sounds like you have a lot of love and support from family and friends, and I hope you continue to count me among the latter though we haven't seen each other in some time. You will be in the Cartwrights' prayers!
    Hugs, Deborah
